Giving Thanks

It’s cliche, I know -but “where does the time go?”  Every year the holidays approach us with what seems to be with lightning speed.  What does this really say?  It makes you stop and wonder; are we so busy in our everyday lives that everything seems to whiz on by without us noticing it?  Or does age come into play here?  Because I can remember when I was much younger that it seemed to be an eternity for some big event like Christmas to arrive.  Which ever one it may be, I do know that the older I become the more I appreciate all the wonderful things that I have in my life.  It is true that most of us have a tendency to focus on the negative aspects of our lives but we’ve heard over and over that we should “focus on the positive”.  I personally apply this concept in my own life and have found that it actually does work to make things better.

Thanksgiving comes around once a year but really we should be celebrating our lives and being thankful everyday for all that we have.  Now I know that some have more than others and that hardships have hit a lot of us along with events that seem to be end of the world situations but when you really stop and think about it, it’s not the end of the world.  And life does go on and whether you recognize it or not – things could be worse. Try to focus on all that you do have to be thankful for.  Take a look around you and see that best friend, partner in life, your beautiful children, family, your home, whomever or whatever it may be, be thankful that you have that.   With that said, I’d like to wish you all a “Happy Thanksgiving!”

Happy Thanksgiving from Jenny’s Home Improvement.
